The Athletic’s Matt Barrows joined “The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross” Monday morning to talk about takeaways from the 49ers and Rams and preview the upcoming playoffs.

While San Francisco lost what was essentially a meaningless game Sunday, Barrows explains why the Rams and Cowboys are the two teams the 49ers would not want to see in the postseason.

“It’s not just division familiarity, they [the Rams] run the same system,” Barrows said. “I would put the Cowboys and Rams as one and two in teams the 49ers would rather not play in the playoffs.”

On the flip side. Barrows believes the best opponents for the 49ers in the postseason are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Green Bay Packers and Philadephia Eagles.

Additional topics discussed include:

  • If Jake Moody’s misses on Sunday are concerning
  • Are any of the team’s injuries serious or were the 49ers playing it safe on Sunday sitting players?
  • What happened with the Eagles in the second half of the season?
  • If teams looking for new coaches and general managers would steal anyone from the San Francisco 49ers organization.
