Sacramento Kings head coach Mike Brown spoke to the media on Friday after practice and talked about the team’s win over the New York Knicks, expanded on his postgame comments and more.

The coach shared a story about how he learned from San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich that this is a player’s league.

“Fox and Domas and HB as well, they allow me to coach them,” Mike Brown said. “And they understand that I appreciate that and I’m not going to take advantage of it, but yet they still embrace everything I say and they try to uphold their positions as leaders of this team so that everyone could be better.”

Next up for Mike Brown and the Kings

Sacramento will play against a Phoenix Suns team without Kevin Durant (ankle) as the two Pacific Divison foes will go head-to-head in a game with massive postseason implications.

Phoenix can help close the gap between themselves and the second-seed Kings with a win, while Sacramento can give itself more breathing room as the season gets closer to its conclusion.
