The Sacramento Kings’ record-breaking offense from last year picked up right where it left off during Wednesday’s impressive season-opener in Salt Lake City, Utah.
With veteran forward Harrison Barnes (33 points) leading the way, Sacramento set a franchise record for made three-pointers during a season-opener (19) en route to a 130-114 win over the Utah Jazz.
Kings head coach Mike Brown met with the media on Thursday to break down what he liked and wanted to have his team work on after taking in last night’s action.

Mike Brown on being impressed by Sacramento’s effort in Utah
“You know, for a first game, I was impressed. That’s a difficult environment to play in. [Jazz head coach] Will Hardy has done a fantastic job in a short amount of time with that team. They have length, they have size, athleticism, scoring, shooting, and I thought we did some pretty good things defensively.
“I felt we were pretty good, but we could be even better offensively, and that’s what I guess I’m most impressed with.”
Brown on Harrison Barnes’ impressive outing
“I mean he’s a pro’s pro. He just has been around a lot of situations. He’s a guy that’s always going to keep him himself ready, not just physically with his game, but also mentally too. The opportunity presented itself on a few different occasions, especially offensively. He was great with his cuts, and not only cut really well, but he finished his cuts and Utah played a lot of zone.
“He’s a strong veteran, and you know if you give him room to snap drive, and now he’s going downhill at you, he’s got a lot of tricks up his sleeve to be able to finish through contact. It doesn’t surprise me that he’s able to step up like that.”
