Brent Rooker named finalist for Hank Aaron Award

Oakland Athletics slugger Brent Rooker has been named as one of ten American League finalists for the 2024 Hank Aaron Award.

The Hank Aaron Award is given to the best hitter in each league (American and National), meaning that two players will be taking home some hardware when the winners are announced later this month.

It was a memorable 2024 campaign for Rooker, as the Mississippi State alumni batted a career-high .293 while also setting career-highs in home runs (39), RBI (112), hits (160), runs scored (82), and stolen bases (11).

Among MLB leaders, Rooker finished the season tied for fifth in home runs, tied for fourth in RBI, sixth in slugging percentage (.562), and eighth in on-base-plus-slugging-percentage (.927).
