Athletics Injury Updates: April 28, 2026

Outfielder Denzel Clarke, currently on the 10-day injured list with a right foot bone bruise, is beginning to show signs of progress.

Clarke, who has been sidelined since April 21, is working out of a walking boot and is expected to start a running progression this week. While he has resumed throwing, he has not yet returned to hitting activities.

The 24-year-old appeared in 22 games prior to the injury, batting .170 with six RBI and two stolen bases.

Right-hander Gunnar Hoglund, on the 60-day injured list due to a lumbar strain and left hip impingement, has begun a throwing progression in Sacramento.

Hoglund has not pitched in a game since May 31 of last season, and the organization has not provided a timetable for his return as he works through his rehab process.

Infielder Max Muncy is also without a timetable after being placed on the 10-day injured list with a left hand fracture. Muncy was hit by a pitch on April 13 and initially attempted to play through the injury.

However, an MRI conducted on April 27 revealed a non-displaced fracture at the neck of his fifth metacarpal. He is currently not participating in any baseball activities.

Prior to the injury, Muncy was hitting .239 with two home runs, seven RBI, and two stolen bases, posting a .710 OPS. His two triples are tied for the American League lead.
