SF Giants Injury Updates: Encarnacion, Roupp & more
While the San Francisco Giants remain outside of the postseason picture, a few key players are working their ways back from the injured list.

The San Francisco Giants are all but out of the National League Wild Card race, but some key players continue to work their way back from the injured list.
Here’s a look at some injury updates on players like Jerar Encarnacion, Erik Miller, and Landon Roupp, who injured his knee during last week’s series in Milwaukee.
The Giants have also provided an injury update on All-Star closer Randy Rodriguez, who was placed on the 15-day injured list due to a right elbow sprain.

San Francisco Giants Injury Updates – August 27, 2025
- Jerar Encarnacion (right hamstring strain) started his running progression this past weekend and will continue to participate in all baseball activities pre-game today.
- Erik Miller (left elbow sprain) remains no-throwing and will be reevaluated this weekend.
- Randy Rodriguez (right elbow sprain) was placed on the 15-day Injured List today with a right elbow sprain. He received an MRI yesterday and will meet with team doctors tonight.
- Landen Roupp (left knee inflammation) had a second opinion on his left knee yesterday with Dr.
Timothy McAdams at Stanford Medicine. Dr. McAdams confirmed the diagnosis of a bone bruise and no structural damage to the rest of his left knee. Roupp’s recovery time is approximately four weeks.

For just the second time since 2009, the San Francisco Giants will be starting a season in front of their home fans at Oracle Park.
Tuesday’s 2026 MLB schedule release revealed that the New York Yankees will begin the year with a four-game series in San Francisco.
Game one is set for Wednesday, March 25th. Could it also be the debut of top prospect Bryce Eldridge?
The Giants will also spend the Fourth of July in Colorado this season.
Outside of the Yankees, other American League teams that will come to Oracle Park include the White Sox, Athletics, Blue Jays, Angels, Tigers, Astros, and Twins.
City Connect jerseys will be worn at Tuesday’s home games, which are scheduled for 12 games.
Beginning the year with one historic organization, they’ll close out 2026 with a three-game series against their division rival, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
