Sources: Kings meet with Kingston Flemings, considering PG for 7th pick

According to reporting from Sactown Sports’ Matt George, Perry met with the family of Houston guard Kingston Flemings this weekend in San Antonio.

The meeting marks another step in Perry’s detailed evaluation process as the Kings prepare for this month’s NBA Draft, in which they hold the 7th overall pick in what many view as a loaded draft class.

The significance of the visit goes beyond a routine check-in.

As George explained on The Matt & Kayla Show, this type of meeting reflects a “next step” in the pre-draft process, moving from general interest into a deeper understanding of a player’s background, personality, and support system.

“That alone suggests that Scott Perry is doing his due diligence,” George said, emphasizing that successful front offices evaluate more than just on-court production. “It’s about who you are and who’s around you.”

Over 37 games, the 19-year-old averaged 16.1 points, 5.2 assists, and 4.1 rebounds while shooting 47.6% from the field and 38.7% from three-point range.

His combination of speed, shot creation, and playmaking has made him one of the most intriguing guards in the class. Flemings emerged as a centerpiece for Houston, starting all 37 games and leading the Cougars to a Sweet 16 appearance while earning All-Big 12 and All-Freshman honors.
