Report: Kingston Flemings visited Sacramento for workout last week

The Sacramento Kings may not need to trade up to land one of their preferred targets in the 2026 NBA Draft.

According to NBA insider Jake Fischer of The Stein Line, both Arkansas guard Darius Acuff and Houston standout Kingston Flemings could still be on the board when Sacramento makes the seventh overall selection on June 23.

Acuff has been the prospect most consistently linked to the Kings throughout the pre-draft process. Earlier this week, KCRA 3’s Sean Cunningham reported that the Arkansas star visited Sacramento last week for a private workout with the organization, adding another layer to the growing speculation surrounding the Kings’ interest.

Kingston Flemings, meanwhile, has also emerged as a serious candidate for Sacramento.

Earlier this month, Sactown Sports’ Matt George reported that Kings general manager Scott Perry traveled to San Antonio to meet with Flemings at the guard’s home.

Fischer revealed this week that the 19-year-old, like Acuff, also made the trip to Sacramento for a private workout and facility tour.

Acuff and Flemings both going through workouts with the Kings is noteworthy, especially given the recent buzz surrounding the top of the NBA Draft order.

Louisville guard Mikel Brown Jr. is rumored to be in the mix for both the Los Angeles Clippers (5th pick) and Brooklyn Nets (6th pick), with Illinois guard Keaton Wagler also a possibility to land at 5th or 6th.

“What does all that mean for Sacramento at No. 7?” Fischer wrote. “It means that the player most frequently connected to the Kings — Darius Acuff — could well be waiting there for them to select without having to worry about moving up the board.”

This, of course, would open the door for Sacramento to land Acuff–the player they have been swooning over since the end of College Basketball season–or Flemings, a guard who may very well be the answer to the Kings’ long-term point guard problem.

Fischer added that “Flemings should be there for Sacramento’s choosing, too,” further reinforcing the possibility that the Kings could have a decision to make between two guards they have extensively evaluated.

Kingston Flemings checks plenty of boxes on the court for Sacramento. During his lone season at Houston, the San Antonio native averaged 16.1 points, 5.2 assists, and 4.1 rebounds while shooting 47 percent from the field and 39 percent from three-point range.

The guard started all 37 games for the Cougars, helping lead Houston to a Sweet 16 appearance while earning All-Big 12 and All-Freshman honors. His combination of speed, shot creation, and playmaking has made him one of the most intriguing guards in a loaded draft class, with many scouts projecting him as a top-five pick.

But if Fischer’s latest reporting proves accurate, both Darius Acuff and Kingston Flemings could still be available when the Kings are on the clock, potentially giving Sacramento the opportunity to address its backcourt without surrendering additional assets to move up the draft board–something that Perry has all but made clear he will not be forced into doing.
