Christmas day is here and hopefully everybody got what they asked for on their Christmas list. NFL teams have lists as well and some teams have more illustrious wishes than others.
With the NFL season winding down, here are four teams that hope to get what they have on their list:
Kansas City Chiefs: A sustained playoff run
The Kansas City Chiefs still haven’t clinched a first-round bye but only need to beat the Oakland Raiders on Sunday to do so. Sitting at 11-4 on the season, the Chiefs have been one of the top teams in the NFL all season but historically that hasn’t meant much for Kansas City. For the Chiefs a playoff win would be nice which is something they haven’t accomplished since beating the Houston Texans in the 2016 wild card round. However, the Chiefs haven’t advanced past the divisional round since 1993. With how good of a year the Chiefs have had, they’re hoping Santa leaves at least an AFC Championship Game appearance under the tree.
New England Patriots: One more ring
The Bill Belichick/Tom Brady era isn’t going to last forever and may be winding down in Foxboro so what more could the Patriots want than just one more championship for the duo. With five titles since 2000, this is more of a want than a need for New England but with Brady approaching 42, the titles could stop coming for the Patriots. Five rings is already nice but ring number six is what is on the wish list for New England.
Oakland Raiders: A home in 2019
With the city of Oakland suing the Raiders, it appears that the Raiders time in Oakland is up. 2019 is up in the air with San Francisco, San Diego, Santa Clara, and even London as possible rental homes for the Raiders next season. With Las Vegas the home in 2020 for the Raiders, 2019 is still unresolved and something the Raiders would like to figure out sooner rather than later.
Philadelphia Eagles: Another successful postseason with Nick Foles
Carson Wentz has missed the past few weeks with a fractured back and it is still unsure when he will play again this season. Just like last season, Nick Foles has replaced Wentz and the Eagles have not missed a step. In the two games Wentz has missed, Foles has thrown for 741 yards and four touchdowns while winning both games. Eagles fans are hoping that if Wentz can’t play again this season, Foles can lead them to another Super Bowl title.
