After a dominant return to the top of the NFL, the 49ers and Nick Bosa have earned their flowers for Week 10.
The San Francisco 49ers pass rusher has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week, his first in-season award of 2023. This is also the first time since Week 5 that the Red & Gold have earned a weekly award, snapping a three-game losing streak to do so.
But after a performance in Jacksonville that saw the 49ers defense return to their standards, none should be surprised.
Bosa, 26, recorded one and a half sacks, a forced fumble and recovery, a pass breakup, two quarterback hits, and three combined tackles against the Jaguars. The Ohio State alum now has 4.5 sacks on the season, 25 combined tackles, and 21 QB hits in nine games played.

His best play of Week 10 came in the second quarter when he and fellow defensive end Chase Young met at QB Trevor Lawrence for a sack. While Young was tackling the gunslinger, Bosa stripped the football, recovering it for the 49ers. After arriving in SF after the trade deadline, Young and Bosa have reignited their college chemistry on the field, something the 49ers desperately need down the stretch.

The 49ers’ defense combined for five sacks and four turnovers in Week 10, stomping Jacksonville, 34-3. San Francisco now sits at 6-3 on the season.
Nick Bosa and the rest of the Red & Gold will look to keep their dominant wins coming, set to host QB Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home in Week 11.
