The Oakland A’s are getting Brent Rooker back in time for a 10-game road trip.
Rooker was placed on the injured list with a costochondral cartilage injury. He exited Sunday, April 7th’s win over the Detroit Tigers with abdominal soreness.
Through eight games this season, Brent Rooker is hitting .200 with an on-base percentage of .226. The 29-year-old outfielder was Oakland’s lone All-Star last season.

Because Rooker was re-instated, the team optioned infielder Darell Hernaiz to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Hernaiz, who started multiple games at third base and shortstop, was on the A’s Opening Day roster but has struggled since opening day, batting .103 with just two RBIs in his major league debut.
