19 years ago today, Chris Webber had a monster game to lead the Sacramento Kings over the New York Knicks

All athletic events will be on pause for the foreseeable future, which is a tough pill to swallow for sports fans around the world.

While this may be a rough time for Sacramento Kings fans, we can look back on some good times while we wait for basketball to make it’s return.

On This Date: March 27, 2001

In the midst of a breakout season for the Kings, Chris Webber put on a show against Latrell Sprewell and the New York Knicks.

Webber went on to score 39 points and grab 15 rebounds, leading the Kings to a 124-117 overtime win at ARCO Arena. Peja Stojakovic scored 29 points to go along with 9 rebounds, while Jason Williams chipped in with 16 points and 8 assists.

Sprewell and Allan Houston scored 21 points each in the loss, while Kurt Thomas scored 23 points off of the bench for New York.

Webber went on to become on of the greatest Sacramento Kings of all time, playing seven seasons in Sacramento and playing in four NBA All-Star games.

Over seven seasons with the Kings, Webber averaged 23.5 points, 10.6 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game.

Sacramento retired Webber’s number four jersey in 2010.
