The Las Vegas Raiders‘ next opponent is the New Orleans Saints, but they don’t yet know who will lineup behind center, Jameis Winston or Andy Dalton.
According to a report by ProFootballTalk, Saints coach Dennis Allen said Winston is getting healthier.
I do think that’s a discussion we have to have. I think both of those guys will have themselves ready to play. Hopefully after we get a chance to talk about it, discuss it, we’ll have a good answer for what we’re going to do.”
Raiders defensive Coordinator Patrick Graham told the media on Tuesday they always take into account who the backup quarterback is and allocate a “certain amount of time” scheming for the backup.
“You never know what’s going to happen,” Graham said. “That’s just the game when you are dealing with a collision sport like this. Again, every week is difficult. We are always preparing for whoever is on the roster. I mean, does it add a certain level of difficulty, maybe? But that’s how we prepare.”
Two guys Graham and the Raiders’ defense can prepare for though, are running back Alvin Kamara and human Swiss Army Knife Taysom Hill.
“He’s one of those like, ‘Where’s Waldo’ guys,” Graham said of Hill. “Each week there is somebody like that usually on each team, so you got to have an understanding of, ‘okay, there he is. He’s on the field.’ And then you got to be able to execute from there. We got the idea, he’s on the field, we know where he’s at and then from there can we execute the plan?”
Graham went on to compliment Kamara and how he breaks a lot of tackles, his speed, and his balance.
“He could be in the backfield, he can be out wide, they can put him anywhere,” Graham said. “They can put him at wildcat quarterback, they can do anything. So, you got to prepare for that stuff.”
