Minshew Mania is reportedly heading to Sin City.
According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Gardner Minshew and the Las Vegas Raiders have agreed to a two-year deal worth $25 million, with $15 million fully guaranteed.
Rapoport adds that Minshew will compete with second-year quarterback Aidan O’Connell for the starting role. Earlier this offseason, the Raiders announced plans to release quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and Brian Hoyer once the new league year begins.
The 27-year-old quarterback played in 17 games for the Indianapolis Colts last season, starting 13 of those on his way to his first Pro Bowl selection in his career. In 2023 with the Colts, he threw a career-high 3,305 passing yards for 15 touchdowns.
Selected in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars, Gardner Minshew was thrust into the starting role when Nick Foles got injured in the first quarter of Week 1 of that season. After two years in Jacksonville, he would on to play for the Philadelphia Eagles for two years before joining Indianapolis.
