Basketball fans in Greece, and back here in Sacramento, can all let out a collective sigh of relief.
It was reported on Thursday by Basketnews.com that EuroLeague star and Sacramento Kings prospect Sasha Vezenkov suffered an injury during Game 2 of the Greek League Finals. The injury occurred in the third quarter when the forward went for a rebound and landed awkwardly. He eventually had to be carried off the court.

On Friday, Basketnews.com reported that the injury does not appear to be as severe as it looked on the court.
The results of the medical tests showed that the player hasn’t sustained a serious injury. As the club announced, the 27-year-old has a swollen bone “on the posterior surface of the medial tibial condyle of his right knee.”
The Kings hold the 27-year-oldâs NBA rights thanks to a draft day deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers in June 2022. Recent reports have indicated that Vezenkov is inching closer to making a commitment to Sacramento that would bring the forward to the United States for the 2023-24 season. Vezenkov recently told Bulgarian television BNT that a decision on his future will take place following Olympiacosâ run at defending its Greek League title.
