Week 5 couldn’t have gone much better for the 49ers, laying the smackdown on the Cowboys under the national eyes of Sunday Night Football. The mentality remains one week at a time however, with a road test against the Cleveland Browns on the horizon.
On the latest episode of the “Return of the Empire podcast,” Amil Fragoso and Nate Littlefield recap the 49ers’ Week 5 win over the Dallas Cowboys. They also discuss Brock Purdy’s big day, the return of George Kittle to the offense, what Randy Gregory brings to the table and what the 49ers should expect from the Browns in Week 6.
All that & much more on the Return of the Empire.
“This game to me is the biggest challenge we’ve had so far. I thought that was going to be Dallas too going into it. But then you look at this and [that], the defensive numbers just jump out. You don’t see very much that they’re not number one or two in everything,” coach Kyle Shanahan said about the Browns Wednesday. “But everything else is top notch. They’re doing that too, offensively right now, so it should be a hell of a battle. When you look at a defense like that, a team who’s committed to running the ball like they are, that’s like the prime best way to get into the playoffs and that’s why I expect this team to be there throughout this year.”

Topics Discussed:
- Amil & Nate’s takeaways from Week 5’s primetime win over Dallas
