Coming off a dominant second-half performance over the Seattle Seahawks last weekend, the San Francisco 49ers now host the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round of the NFC playoffs.

The two teams last met in the 2021 postseason, when the 49ers went into Texas and beat the Cowboys, 23-17, in the wildcard round. A rivalry among the most heated, Dallas holds a one-game advantage over their opponents, going 19-18-1 all-time with the Bay Area squad.

On the latest edition of the Return of the Empire podcast, JayMarZZ and Amiliano Fragoso recap the 49ers’ playoff win over the Seattle Seahawks, and why Brock Purdy had his best outing yet in the NFL. Plus, can the Cowboys stay consistent, or will San Francisco send them to the offseason? All that and much more on this week’s episode.

Topics Discussed:

  • Brock Purdy’s second half performance against Seattle
  • How do the 49ers stack up with the Cowboys?
  • Were the Buccaneers bad, or was it a good win for Dallas?
  • Can Dak Prescott continue his form?
  • Who’s in, who’s out?
  • Predictions for the NFC Divisional Round

The Return of the Empire podcast is a San Francisco 49ers podcast hosted by 49ers beat writer Amiliano Fragoso and producer Justin “JayMarZZ” Marshall for Sactown Sports 1140.
