Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis spoke to the media following Monday’s loss to the Charlotte Hornets, as the big man discussed what went wrong down the closing stretch, talked about the team’s free-throw woes, and much more.
Sabonis had a historic first half on Monday night, scoring 14 points, pulling down 16 boards, and dishing out five assists to set a new Kings franchise record for rebounds in a single half.
The big man finished the night with a season-high 28 points (12-of-19 from the field), 23 boards, and seven assists over 40 minutes, his third 20-20 game of the year–the most in the NBA.

The Sacramento Kings entered the 2022-23 season hoping to break a 16-year playoff drought. After hiring Mike Brown as the team’s new coach, the Kings drafted Keegan Murray with the number four overall pick. They continued to make moves over the summer, trading for Kevin Huerter and signing multiple free agents, including guard Malik Monk.
