An exterior view of the Golden 1 Center after they lit the beam after the Sacramento Kings beat the Golden State Warriors in Game Two of the Western Conference First Round Playoffs at Golden 1 Center on April 17, 2023 in Sacramento, California.

At last year’s Sacramento Kings Fan Fest, the organization announced the debut of the beam.

This year, the team plans to highlight 100 years of the franchise.

In 1923, the Rochester Royals made their debut. Over the years, the franchise had stops in Cincinnati and Kansas City before landing in Sacramento in 1985.

“This season, we are proud to celebrate our centennial anniversary by reflecting on our rich history, iconic players and moments, and the enduring support of our unwavering fanbase,” Sacramento Kings President of Business Operations John Rinehart said in a press release. “We can’t wait to welcome fans back to Golden 1 Center for another thrilling season of Kings basketball.”

When is the Sacramento Kings Fan Fest?

The pre-season festivities take place on Saturday, Oct. 21. The annual event kicks off at 1 p.m. for Season Ticket Members and Golden 1 Credit Union Members and 1:30 p.m. for the general public. The day-long event includes an open practice, a rookie talent show, a Kids Zone with activities and games, discounts on select Kings apparel, samples of new menu items and 50% off fan-favorite foods.

How much does Fan Fest cost?

The event is free!

Are there any other Kings events happening on the same day?

The Sacramento Kings are also hosting a Jr. Kings youth basketball clinic at the Golden 1 Center on the morning of Fan Fest, from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. The clinic costs $100. Families can register here.
