Sacramento Kings mailbag: NBA free agency thoughts

Welcome back to the Sactown Sports Sacramento Kings mailbag, where we answer all your questions about the Beam Team and their free agency moves.
When we last saw the Kings, they had returned to the playoffs for the first time since 2006, but unfortunately lost in seven games to the Golden State Warriors. Then on draft night, the Kings traded away the rights to the 24th pick and center Richaun Holmes to the Dallas Mavericks, giving fans hope that the team would be big spenders in free agency.
And they were, in a way. The Kings locked up center Domantas Sabonis to a contract extension, signed EuroLeague MVP Sasha Vezenkov and brought back Harrison Barnes on a team-friendly deal, Trey Lyles and Alex Len. The biggest move that didn’t include a player on last year’s roster was acquiring Chris Duarte from Indiana Pacers.
This week’s questions include:
- Which Sacramento Kings free agency signing is the most/least surprising?
- Is this the roster we see on opening night or will the Kings still make another move or two?
- Which free agency signing not connected to the Sacramento Kings was the most surprising?
Thank you for all the questions. Have something you’d like to ask us about the Sacramento Kings? Text us at 916-339-1140 or email us at kingsmailbag@sactownsports.com.
