The California Classic is near!

As we move within a few days of NBA Summer League action at Golden 1 Center, the Sacramento Kings have released its roster for the action that is set to take place July 3rd and 5th.

34th overall pick Colby Jones and 54th overall pick Jalen Slawson highlight the list of names released on Thursday, with Kings guard Keon Ellis returning for his second Summer League with Sacramento.

Jones, a 6’5 wing that can play the two and three, was a threat from beyond the arc during the 2022-23 season, shooting 38 percent from three-point range while pulling down 5.7 rebounds per game.

Slawson, a 6’7 wing with a 6’11 wingspan, averaged 15.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting 55 percent from the field and 39 percent from three-point range over 36 games for the Furman Paladins.

Also joining the newest Kings will be reigning NBA All-Rookie First Team forward Keegan Murray, who set a rookie record with 206 made three-point field goals.

Returning for a third-straight Summer League will be center Neemias Queta, while guard/forward Alex O’Connell will be back in the fold for his second Summer League in Sacramento.

Folsom native and Stockton Kings guard Jordan Ford will participate in his first Summer League as a member of the Kings after previously playing for the Los Angeles Clippers in July 2021, meaning that the 25-year-old will get a chance to play in front of his hometown fans at his first California Classic.

Sacramento will open up the Classic on Monday, July 3rd when they face the Golden State Warriors at 7:00 PM PST. You can buy single-game tickets here.
