The Sacramento Kings entered the 2019 NBA Draft without their first round pick, owned by the Boston Celtics at 14, but with three second rounders; the 40th, 47th and 60th picks. Despite an incredible amount of trades in the first round, Sacramento elected to say put.

With the 40th pick, the Kings selected Justin James, the 6’7″ senior wing out of Wyoming. In his final college season, James averaged 22 points, eight rebounds and four assists a game while shooting 40% from the field and 29% from three-point range.

James was one of the many players that Sacramento hosted for pre-draft workouts.

Sacramento traded the 47th pick to the New York Knicks for the 55th pick and cash considerations. At 55, the Kings selected Virginia point guard Kyle Guy, who is considered one of the best shooters in the draft. In his junior season, Guy shot 42% from three-point range, averaging 15 points a game.

With the 60th and final pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, the Kings wrapped up the night with Serbian guard Vanja Marinkovic, who averaged 12 points, two rebounds and two assists this last season in Europe.
