The Sacramento Library wants to put a little purple in your pocket.

By teaming up with the Sacramento Kings, all Sacramento County residents will have the chance to swap out their current library card with a special edition card, featuring the purple beam we all love to look at after the Kings win.

The card, which will be available at all 28 locations on Thursday, July 13, is only available while supplies last. Current cardholders and new library members can register for the card. According to the Sacramento Library, if you already have a card, the beam edition will replace it.

The Sacramento Kings debuted the purple beam last season, flashing it above the Golden 1 Center after every team win. And boy did the Kings light the beam a lot last season. For the first time in 16 seasons, the Sacramento Kings not only clinched a playoff berth but claimed the Pacific Division title on their way to a 48-34 record.

Despite the regular season success, the Kings would ultimately fall in the first round of the playoffs to the Golden State Warriors in seven games.

Since then, Sacramento has used its offseason to bring back Harrison Barnes, lock up center Domantas Sabonis to a new long-term contract, signed EuroLeague MVP Sasha Vezenkov, and drafted two players in the second round of the 2023 NBA Draft.
