On Friday, December 22, the Sacramento Republic FC team announced that the team has re-signed Cameron Iwasa.
Iwasa and Sacramento Republic FC have agreed to a USL contract for the 2018 season. There also seems to be a 2019 season option, but it is currently pending league and federation approval.
Republic FC Head Coach and Technical Director Paul Buckle expresses excitement about this announcement:
“I thoroughly enjoyed working with Cameron during his previous tenure with the club, and we saw the results on the pitch through his record goal scoring season and our placement at the top of the table. I am delighted to have him back and see what he can do this time around at Republic FC.”
Republic FC’s newest forward Iwasa, is a Sacramento native and attended Jesuit High School in Carmichael.
He was picked during the 2015 MLS SuperDraft by the Montreal Impact, but was opted to instead sign with Republic FC on Mar. 20, 2015.
