The Sacramento Republic FC is gearing up for their biggest league match since their inaugural season back in 2014.
On Saturday, Republic FC will be back in the USL Championship Western Conference Final for the second time in franchise history.
“Every playoff game, we get a little bit better, more confident, and more ruthless,” Republic’s head coach Mark Briggs said.
Sacramento will take on Phoenix Rising for a third time this season. The two teams split during the regular campaign, with the Republic outscoring the Rising FC 5-2.
“They are a team that does keep going to the very end, and we have to get after it from minute one to minute 100 if it goes 100 minutes,” Briggs said.
Forward Russell Cicerone said, “Guys are willing to work hard and come off the bench and make an impact.”
The indomitable club hopes to see and feel a packed Heart Health Park at Cal Expo on Saturday.
“We need everyone in Sac to fill the stadium and get behind the team,” Briggs said.
Kickoff is set for Saturday at 7 p.m. at Heart Health Park. Fans can purchase tickets here.
