The Athletic’s Sam Amick joined “The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross” on Thursday morning to talk about the Golden State Warriors blowing a 24-point lead to the Sacramento Kings.
With Tuesday’s loss, the Warriors are now 2-8 in their last 10 games. While they got Draymond Green back from suspension, two key players, Chris Paul and Gary Payton II, suffered injuries against Sacramento.
“I do think, maybe hyperbole here, that night felt like, and this is a big hypothetical, but if the Warriors continue to slide like they have recently and we get to the end of the year and it’s underwhelming and maybe even dysfunctional, I feel like this game against Sacramento is going to be a moment we look back on,” Amick said, before going into detail about what he saw from the Warriors bench on Tuesday night.
“To watch the interactions between Draymond and Steve Kerr and the Warriors bench and some of the stuff that was happening, and having covered Draymond for his entire career, and Steph as well, I felt like the seams were starting to bust apart a little bit in terms of their personal dynamics. And I think their frustrations are at a pretty high level. And if they don’t get it back it under control, I’ll always remember that night [Tuesday’s loss to the Kings].”
Additional topics discussed include:
- Revisiting Vlade Divac’s tenure as general manager of the Kings
- De’Aaron Fox’s ascension into becoming a top star in the NBA
- How the Kings can be a “frustrating” watch
- If the Warriors have anyone in the organization who can get through to Draymond Green
