If all goes according to plan, the San Francisco 49ers will be well-represented at the NFL’s 2024 Pro Bowl.
On Wednesday, the NFL released the first returns since voting opened earlier this season, with the Red & Gold leading all teams in total votes received. As of Dec. 6, seven San Francisco players — Christian McCaffrey, Kyle Juszczyk, George Kittle, Trent Williams, Nick Bosa, Fred Warner and Javon Hargrave — lead their categories.
According to the NFL, “player selections will be determined by the consensus votes of fans, players and coaches, with each group’s vote counting as one-third toward determining the all-star players who will be selected to this year’s Pro Bowl Games.” Fan voting concludes on Monday, Dec. 25. NFL players and coaches will then cast their votes on Friday, Dec. 29.
Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa leads all players with just under 60,000 votes. McCaffrey is third in total votes with 43,331.
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy and wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk still have a chance to play in the Pro Bowl, as both rank within the top 10 of their respective categories.
