HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto Joins The Nick Cattles Show

During Friday’s edition of The Nick Cattles Show, HoopsHype’s NBA writer Michael Scotto joined the program to discuss the new-look Sacramento Kings, contemplate whether or not the team should focus on the Play-In or securing a high draft pick and much more.

Scotto on if the Kings should chase the Play-In:

“I don’t think that they will be good enough to get into the Play-In tournament. The trade for Domantas Sabonis, they got a multi-time All-Star who is 25, they got off of Buddy Hield’s contract…It was unfortunate that they had to give up their most-promising young player in Tyrese Haliburton…but what they got back, Domantas is the best front-court player they have had since Chris Webber.

To me personally for the longterm growth of that team and trying to return to the days of the Mike Bibby and Chris Webber era, I think that a top-four pick would be better for them.”

Could De'Aaron Fox be moved this summer?

"I heard from some execs that the price tag was pretty high and that Sac was looking for an All-Star caliber guy back in return if they were going to give up De'Aaron, but Fox hasn't reached that level yet."

"My answer would be take the top 5 pick. I don't think they are good enough to play their way into the playoffs. Look long term & try to hit on some of the picks like Davion(Mitchell)."
