Sean Cunningham, sports reporter and producer for FOX40, joined Cattles & Ramie Thursday to talk about the latest news he’s hearing concerning the Sacramento Kings and NBA free agency, if a contract extension is coming for center Domantas Sabonis, and more.
Despite free agency beginning at 3 p.m. Friday, June 30, Sean said that may not be the Kings’ biggest priority this offseason.
“I think they want to be very careful with the cap room but certainly being a player in this market. Whether that’s a swing-for-the-fences type move, doesn’t mean you have to go out and overpay, doesn’t matter who they’re bringing in,” Sean told Sactown Sports. “I think still the golden prize at the end of the day, their number one priority is not free agency, it’s keeping Domantas Sabonis from becoming an unrestricted free agent next year.”
Topics discussed include:
- Are the Sacramento Kings out on Kyle Kuzma?
- Why there’s a chance the team makes a big swing or smaller swings in free agency
- There’s “a lot of garbage” being thrown around, but “at the end of the day, something is going to stick.”
- The latest on Sasha Vezenkov signing with the Sacramento Kings
