On Tuesday morning on The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross, former NFL quarterback Sean Salisbury joined the show to discuss the late college football coach Mike Leach and the impact he had on today’s game, along with his thoughts on how the San Francisco 49ers are performing with rookie Brock Purdy.

Topics discussed include:

  • His relationship with the late Mike Leach and what he misses most about the former college football coach
  • If he ever chooses to pursue coaching, a lot of what he learned from coach Leach would be in his playbook
  • The impact Mike Leach had on college football
  • Through three games, Brock Purdy is playing with confidence and not being held down by coach Kyle Shanahan
  • “If they post 24 points and he protects the football, they’re going to run through the NFC. Nobody is going to score four touchdowns on them.”
  • Can’t recall another rookie who has shown as much poise as Brock Purdy.
