The Seattle Seahawks Defeat The San Francisco 49ers 24-13

The Seattle Seahawks defeated the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday after quarterback Russell Wilson threw a two touchdown pass and run for another in the game’s second half, according to Sports Press NW. The Seahawks won in a 24-13 victory, avoiding a loss to a 1-9 49ers, who started rookie QB Jimmy Garoppolo.

The Seahawks made up no ground on the Los Angeles Rams, the NFC West leaders, but enhanced to 4-7.

During the second half, Wilson threw TD passes of 17 yards to tight end Nick Vannett and a one yard pass to TE Jimmy Graham to keep Seattle in the hunt for a playoff spot, who are currently seventh in the six-team field.

Midway in the third quarter, when Seattle was leading 7-6, Wilson hit wide receiver Doug Baldwin for 23 yards on 3rd-and-9 and WR Tanner McEvoy for 24 on 1st-and-10.

Niners quarterback C.J. Beathard departed from the game with a leg injury following a hit by DE Michael Bennett. The 49ers brought in rookie QB Jimmy Garoppolo, who they received from the New England Patriots. He tossed the Niners first touchdown against Seattle during the last play of the game.

Wilson completed eight of 19 for 80 yards and the pick.

He connected on 12 of 15 in the second half and finished 20 of 34 for 228 yards and an 86.4 rating. This is still below his average of 99.1.

Wilson trails Dan Marino (196), Peyton Manning (167) and Matt Ryan (153).

Wilson’s rushing TD in the second quarter was his third of the season.

Jimmy Graham has had eight TDs in his past seven games after none in Seattle’s first four. Graham became Seattle’s all-time TD leader by a tight end in a single season.

The Seahawks accumulated 318 total yards, whereas Niners received 280. The Seahawks had 90 yards rushing, 46 by running back Eddie Lacy.

Wagner had eight tackles, two quarterback hits, and a pass defensed by Seattle’s defense.

Strong safety Bradley McDougald had eight tackles and DT Sheldon Richardson had six, along with FS Earl Thomas having five.

The Seahawks limited San Francisco to 84 yards rushing, 47 by Carlos Hyde. He scorched the Seahawks for 124 in week 2.
