San Francisco Giants rookie outfielder Bryce Johnson had quite a night on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old went a perfect six-for-six with a home run and two RBI during the Sacramento River Cats’ 18-8 loss against the Tacoma Rainers at Sutter Health Park.

According to the River Cats, Johnson is the first player to rack up six hits in a game for Sacramento since the 2005 season.

Johnson, who has spent time with Sacramento and San Francisco this season, is batting .303 with seven home runs and 23 RBI over 42 appearances at the AAA level. The speedy outfielder has also swiped 11 bases, marking the sixth-straight season that he has stolen ten or more bases at the minor league level.

San Francisco has utilized Johnson’s services in 30 games this season, although the rookie has struggled to find his footing against Major League pitching.

Over 30 games with the Giants this season, Johnson holds a .148 batting average with one home run, five RBI, and three stolen bases.

The Giants have made several roster moves over the past week in hopes of jump-starting a deflated offense, including the demotion of fellow rookies Luis Matos and Casey Schmitt.

San Francisco tapped into its offense during a 7-0 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday, but if the team can’t find consistency, Johnson is making some noise in AAA that could warrant a call-up in September.
