Following a hard-fought series in Philadelphia that featured two losses in three nights, the San Francisco Giants are on the outside looking in when it comes to the National League Wild Card picture.

The Giants (66-61) enter play on Friday a half-game behind the Arizona Diamondbacks for the third and final Wild Card spot, and the road to climbing back into a postseason spot will be a tough one over the coming weeks for San Francisco.

Each of the Giants’ next four series will take place against teams that are either in a postseason spot or fighting hard to get into the playoffs, starting with this weekend’s three-game set against the Atlanta Braves at Oracle Park.

Just last weekend, San Francisco dropped two of three games against the MLB-best Braves (82-44), with Sunday’s 4-3 win coming on a ninth-inning .bases-loaded walk from Joc Pederson.

During the Giants’ series against Atlanta, the Braves’ normally explosive lineup was held at bay, batting .270 and averaging 4.3 runs per game (below their season average of 5.8) as San Francisco’s pitching posted a 4.30 ERA.

If the Giants want to take this weekend’s series from Atlanta, they will need its offense to carry its success from Philadelphia (5.0 runs per game on .287 batting) over to Oracle Park.

Here’s how San Francisco and Atlanta are planning on matching up on the mound in what is expected to be an entertaining three-game set in the Bay:
