The San Francisco 49ers are mostly healthy entering the practice week but will be without Deebo Samuel for now.
The 49ers wide receiver will not practice Wednesday, per coach Kyle Shanahan. Samuel suffered a shoulder injury in the NFC Divisional Round, eventually returning to the locker room before halftime. He was ruled out of the contest thereafter.
While tests showed no structural damage to Samuel’s surgically repaired shoulder, he is still in pain at the moment. However, there is still optimism that he will play against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, hoping the pain will subside in time.
“He feels better,” Shanahan said Wednesday about Samuel. “It makes me feel better.”
49ers’ WR Deebo Samuel will not practice today and his status for Sunday’s NFC Championship Game remains uncertain, per Kyle Shanahan.

Other members of the 49ers also expect Samuel to play in the NFC Championship game, including one of his running mates at wideout.
“I do, personally,” WR Brandon Aiyuk said about his teammate playing against the Lions.
Additionally, 49ers legend Jerry Rice expects Samuel to play as well, knowing his character on the football field.
“I expect Deebo Samuel to be on that football field. Deebo, being the competitor that he is, he’s gonna be ready to play,” Rice stated on 95.7 The Game Wednesday.
Deebo Samuel, 28, suffered a similar injury to the same shoulder in Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns. That time it was a hairline fracture in need of surgery, knocking him out of action for two games. The 49ers went 0-3 during that stretch, missing both Samuel and left tackle Trent Williams for most of it.
Besides Samuel, there are no other 49ers’ injuries to report.
