Stockton Kings announce roster moves

The Stockton Kings announced a series of roster moves on Thursday morning.

Kris Dunn, the fifth-overall pick from the 2016 NBA Draft who is currently playing for the Utah Jazz, had his G-League returning player rights traded to Stockton in exchange for the returning player rights to center Jake Stephens.

Jordan Goodwin, a 6’3 guard who has logged 27 games with the Phoenix Suns this season, is also included in the deal.

Stockton also announced the signing of center Doral Moore, who is a 7’1 big that played three years of college basketball at Wake Forest from 2015-2018.

According to the G-League’s website, teams can hold the rights to any player who has played for them within the last two seasons, as long as they have not released that player.

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Stockton Kings, the NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings, announced they have agreed to trade the returning player rights to center Jake Stephens to the Capital City Go-Go in exchange for the returning player rights to guards Kris Dunn and Jordan Goodwin.

In addition, Stockton signed center Doral Moore.

Dunn, a 6-3 point guard, made his mark at Providence College, topping off his collegiate career as a Bob Cousy Award finalist and 2016 Big East Player of the Year.

Dunn was selected with the fifth pick in the 2016 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves. He also spent time with the Chicago Bulls, Atlanta Hawks, Portland Trailblazers, and is currently with the Utah Jazz. In 287 career NBA appearances, Dunn has averaged 8.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 4.2 assists.

Goodwin, a 6-3 guard and former Saint Louis University standout, graduated an all-time leader in steals (225) and as the first in school history to record a triple double. He joins Stockton after a stint with the Washington Wizards and is currently with Phoenix Suns. In 91 career NBA games, Goodwin has averaged 6.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists.

Moore, a 7-1 center and former Wake Forest standout, competed in 90 career G League games (59 starts) averaging 8.0 points (65.7 FG%, 57.4 FT%) and 6.3 rebounds in 18.8 minutes per game during time with the Memphis Hustle (2018-19) and Delaware Blue Coats (2019-20). 

He then spent time overseas between the London Lions, Grises de Humacao, Taiwan Beer (TaiwanBeer HeroBears), Ostioneros de Guaymas, AEL Limassol, and Correbasket UAT

When is the next Sacramento Kings game?

Sacramento will continue its six-game homestand on Friday when they play the first night of a back-to-back against Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns.

The Kings will face the Suns on Friday before completing the homestand on Saturday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
