One of the most highly anticipated matchups of the NBA season just took a big hit.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, an MRI conducted on Tuesday revealed that Indiana Pacers All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton has a Grade 1 left hamstring strain and will be re-evaluated in approximately two weeks.
Haliburton, a former first-round pick of the Sacramento Kings who was the centerpiece in a deal that brought All-Star center Domantas Sabonis to Northern California in 2022, is likely to miss Indiana’s lone trip to Golden 1 Center this season on Thursday, January 18th.

The news of Haliburton’s injury comes as a relief for Pacers fans as the 23-year-old is unlikely to be sidelined for an extended period after there were initial fears of serious injury following the guard’s awkward slip on Monday night.
With Haliburton out of next week’s Kings vs. Pacers matchup, fans will have to wait until next season for a Fox vs. Haliburton matchup at Golden 1 Center.
Sacramento will travel to Indiana on Friday, February 2nd to face the Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
When is the next Sacramento Kings game?
After playing 10 of their past 13 games at home, Sacramento will embark on a five-game road trip that will take place over just seven days.
The Kings will begin the road trip on Tuesday night against a Detroit Pistons team that holds the NBA’s worst record at 3-33.
