The Sacramento Republic FC still wants the public to watch Wednesday’s match, but they want people to do it responsibly.

According to the National Weather Service, the Sacramento region is experiencing a heatwave, with temperatures in many areas exceeding 110 degrees through Wednesday.

While the Republic FC are scheduled to take on Orlando City SC in the Lamar Hunt Championship match, they’ll be doing so in Orlando, away from Northern California’s heatwave. But back home, the team initially partnered with the city to host a watch party at Cesar Chavez Plaza.

The party is still on, but the location has changed.

“Due to extreme heat and elevated air quality in the region, Wednesday’s Watch Party for the U.S. Open Cup Final will now be held at Sacramento’s SAFE Credit Union Convention Center,” the team’s website says. Fans who plan to attend the watch party should use the 14th & J Street Entrance of the Convention Center.

The all-ages party is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. The game kicks off at 5 p.m. The first 4,000 fans who arrive will get a free Sacramento Republic FC flag. The event will also have exclusive commemorative merchandise, including an Open Cup Final scarf and shirt.
