The 49ers may be down a few starters, but at least their back seven on defense remains intact.
San Francisco will have both linebacker Dre Greenlaw and cornerback Charvarius Ward Week 15 against the Arizona Cardinals. Both men had been listed as questionable ahead of the contest, unable to practice much through the week. The expectation was for both players to start in Arizona, as the 49ers look to take a more cautious approach this late in the season.
Additionally, left guard Aaron Banks is active Sunday. He popped up on the injury report Thursday due to a hip issue. The Notre Dame alum has also dealt with turf toe this season.
The Red & Gold will still be without a few key starters Sunday, including defensive tackles Arik Armstead and Javon Hargrave. Right guard Spencer Burford joins them on the inactives, out with a knee injury.
On the other hand, the Arizona Cardinals will have close to a full strength squad for Week 15.
Safety Buddy Baker and wide receivers Marquise Brown and Michael Wilson are active for the contest. The former was added to the injury report Sunday morning due an illness. Arizona’s defensive captain, Baker will gut it out against the 49ers Sunday.
