The 49ers are missing a few pieces of their team this week, with Spencer Burford being one of the biggest names on the injured list.
The San Francisco 49ers right guard had his helmet at the start of Thursday’s practice, before jogging off the field to do individual workouts off to the side. Burford’s participation replicates his work on Wednesday, unable to take part due to an injury. However, he did look spry in drills, moving well throughout the media portion of practice.
Spencer Burford, 23, has been the 49ers starting right guard since he was drafted in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. The UTSA alum has shown promise in his first two seasons but is inconsistent at times. Because of that, San Francisco has incorporated offensive lineman Jon Feliciano into the starting mix over the last month or so. He replaced Burford on Thanksgiving against the Seattle Seahawks, due to his other knee being banged up.

Joining Burford off to the side of practice was running back Elijah Mitchell. The standout ball carrier is dealing with a knee issue this week. He missed most of last season with multiple MCL sprains.
Not seen Thursday was defensive lineman Arik Armstead (foot, knee), tight end Ross Dwelley (ankle), cornerback Darrell Luter Jr. (hamstring) and wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud (rib). All four men are expected to be absent this weekend when Seattle returns to Levi’s Stadium.
Additionally, the 49ers signed RB Ty Davis-Price to the practice squad Thursday, releasing WR Isaiah Winstead to make room.
