WWE top-star Roman Reigns has been a staple for the company for the last few years, taking the torch from long-time face of wrestling; John Cena. But back in October, the then WWE Universal Champion shocked the world by making his way out to the ring and relinquishing his title due to leukemia.
Reigns, who’s real name is Joe Anoa’i, has been battling the cancer for over 11 years, able to work through it and compete on the greatest stage that professional wrestling has to offer. His announcement broke the hearts of all in the wrestling community, including his fellow wrestlers and co-workers in the back.
The 33-year-old athlete left many wondering if he would ever return to a WWE ring again, although he did promise to fight and do everything he could to get back. This Monday, February 25th, prayers were answered and hope was realized as Reigns made a triumphant return, and announcement, on Monday Night RAW.
Not only is Roman in remission, he has been cleared to return to action. He did so in a major way later on in the show, getting involved with fellow Shield brothers Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose.
Following the show, Roman tweeted a message to all of his fans and supporters around the world, thanking them for their love and strength during his battle.

Reigns returning just over a month before WrestleMania is far better than anyone could have hoped for or expected. It will be exciting to watch how the WWE re-implements the “Big Dog” back into the fray.
