As if one player award wasn’t enough this week, 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey has been named the NFC’s Offensive Player of the Month for December/January.
Quarterback Brock Purdy was also named the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Month.
During the six games in December and January, McCaffrey rushed for 505 yards, while also catching 27 passes for an additional 262 yards. He averaged 5 yards per carry and recorded 11 total touchdowns. In its press release, the NFL also pointed out “had four games with at least 135 scrimmage yards and recorded a touchdown in each of the six games from Weeks 13-18.”
Earlier this season, not long after joining San Francisco, Christian McCaffrey was named the NFC Player of the Week. This is the second time in his career he’s received the Player of the Month honor. And with the honor, he became the first San Francisco 49ers running back to earn the award.
