Another week and another San Francisco 49ers player has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week.
On Wednesday, the NFL announced running back Christian McCaffrey as the NFC Offensive Player of the Week. This is the second 49ers player to be named Offensive Player of the Week this season. After Week 1, Brandon Aiyuk was recognized as following his 129-yard and two-touchdown day against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
And this isn’t McCaffrey’s first honor of the season. The NFL named the 27-year-old running back as the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for September. Last month, McCaffrey recorded 423 scrimmage yards, 353 rushing and 70 reception yards. He’s also found the endzone three times and was the only NFC player with a rushing touchdown in each of the first three games of the season.
McCaffrey didn’t slow down in Week 4. He totaled 177 scrimmage yards, with 106 yards coming on the ground. He also recorded four touchdowns, three on the ground and one via reception.
