49ers running back Christian McCaffrey named NFC Offensive Player of the Month

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey is being rewarded for his big month.
The NFL named McCaffrey as the NFC Offensive Player of the Month. This is the second time the 27-year-old running back has won the award with the Niners and his third overall in his career.
Through three games, McCaffrey has recorded 423 scrimmage yards, 353 rushing and 70 reception yards. He’s also found the endzone three times and is the only NFC player with a rushing touchdown in each of the first three games of the season.
Christian McCaffrey joins Steve Young as the only 49ers player to win Offensive Player of the Month honors multiple times. Young was a six-time winner.

Cowboys’ linebacker Micah Parsons and Buccaneers punter Jake Camarda also were recognized as NFC Defensive and Special Teams players of the month, respectively. In the AFC, Dolphins’ quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt and kicker Tyler Bass took home the honors for offensive, defensive and special teams players of the month.
