Despite being held out of practice all week, Deebo Samuel will indeed suit up for Week 4’s clash with the Arizona Cardinals.
The San Francisco 49ers have officially listed the star wide receiver as active for Sunday’s game. The news gives the Red & Gold their two starting wideouts, with Brandon Aiyuk (shoulder) also cleared to play after missing Week 3.
Samuel’s inclusion in Week 4 had been hinted at over the last few days, with both ESPN and NFL Network sources stating that he would play barring a setback in warmups. Those reports appear to be correct, despite the player missing every practice in the lead-up to this game.
“I feel pretty good…We’ll just see how I continue to progress for the next couple of days and then we’ll just see what happens,” Deebo Samuel stated Friday.
Aside from Samuel, the 49ers will be missing another WR in Jauan Jennings, dealing with a nagging shin injury. Jennings has been a vital part of the run game for SF, frequently causing secondary members to retaliate in frustration. San Francisco will hope that rookie Ronnie Bell can fill his shoes a bit Sunday, looking to build off a solid Week 3 performance.
Additionally, running back Elijah Mitchell will be inactive for Week 4. Mitchell suffered a knee injury during Thursday’s practice, making him highly doubtful to suit three days later.
