Amidst all the chatter surrounding Brandon Aiyuk and the 49ers, Deebo Samuel had to set the record straight: “BA” isn’t going anywhere.

The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver made an appearance on Up & Adams with Kay Adams Tuesday. During his interview, Samuel was asked about Aiyuk and his thoughts on what the future holds for his counterpart. While Deebo isn’t a general manager by any means, he would be surprisd to see his teammate not in Red & Gold.

“I love that guy. I don’t see him leaving,” Samuel said about Aiyuk Tuesday. The host agreed with the sentiment, calling it a potential “mistake” by the 49ers.

Brandon Aiyuk, 25, is coming off the best season of his NFL career. The Rocklin native posted 1,342 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in route to his first All-Pro nod. Now entering his fifth-year option, BA is set to receive a massive contract extension, something Samuel has told the player he is deserving of.

“The season that he just came off of, and the seasons previous. I mean, if you look at his numbers from when he got to the league and now like, it’s always a different type of leap,” Samuel stated. “Like I told him, I said, ‘Hey man, you put yourself in a position to be where you want to be.’ As far as [getting] a new deal and things like that.”

Samuel, 28, signed a new deal with the 49ers prior to the 2022 season, locking him down for three more years. Having gone through that process already, he gave his two cents to his younger counterpart.

The biggest advice being: Don’t expect it to go smoothly.

“I just told him, because I’ve been through it, ‘it’s not gonna be all fine and dandy like you think it’s going to be’. You got to stay the course,” Samuel relayed from his conversation with Aiyuk. “You done did everything possible for you to be in a position that you’re in. Just let everything play out.”

Aiyuk may have to wait a bit before getting a new deal locked up. Reports indicate a discussion between the 49ers and Aiyuk will take place, but not until after free agency.
