The San Francisco 49ers leave their Bye week determined to end a three-game losing streak. But despite the midseason slump, Deebo Samuel and the rest of the team feel confident they can get back to winning habits.
The 49ers star wide receiver joined NFL personality Kay Adams on her show Up & Adams Tuesday, discussing a wide range of topics. One of those was the team’s mindset after dropping the last three games.
And while the 49ers are hardest on themselves, that doesn’t mean they are less confident.
“I don’t think it went down because, at the end of the day, we know what we’re capable of,” Deebo Samuel said Tuesday. “We started off hot, and then we hit a little bumps in the road. I mean, it’s gonna happen, you’re not going to win them all. You just got to take it step-by-step and just prepare the way that we’ve been preparing. A big emphasis on takeaways and staying on the field and sustaining drives, and just getting back to what we was doing.”

San Francisco is getting some much-needed help this week, with Samuel one of a few players back in the fold. Missing the last two and a half games with a shoulder fracture, the wideout logged a full practice Monday.
Additionally, the 49ers opened the practice window for cornerbacks Samuel Womack III and Darrell Luter Jr., and outside linebacker Robert Beal Jr. Monday. All three men have been injured for most of the year, now having three weeks to get back to playing shape.
Oh, and the 49ers added star defensive end Chase Young at the trade deadline.
Young, 24, underwent his first practice with the team this week, looking to absorb as much knowledge before Week 10 at Jacksonville. Already named a starter on the unofficial roster, it seems the former No. 2 overall pick will fit in well on the Red & Gold.
“It should be very interesting,” Samuel said with a smirk. “We adding this young fella [Young] to the team, who is playing at a high level and he’s pretty healthy and fits in well with what we do.”
