Looking ahead to Week 7 of the NFL regular season, the 49ers have a slight edge over the NFC West, sitting at 3-3 for the time being. Now scheduled to face quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, can the Red & Gold overcome injuries and analytics, or will they slip to a losing record Sunday.

This is the first time San Francisco and Kansas City have played one another since Super Bowl LIV, the 49ers losing that game, 31-20. The Red & Gold are tied with the Chiefs in the all-time series at 7-7. They have not beaten Kansas City since 2014.

After weeks of never-ending injuries, the 49ers will have some help in the form of defensive end Nick Bosa (groin), left tackle Trent Williams (ankle) and safety Jimmie Ward (hand), all slated to play Sunday afternoon. San Francisco may still be without top cornerback Charvarius Ward (groin) and safety Talanoa Hufanga (concussion), going into the weekend questionable for Sunday.

Nevertheless, the 49ers are ready to right the ship at home, hoping players rise to the occasion.

“Whoever’s out there they have to play, right,” defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans said Thursday. “It’s never quite how you want it with injuries and that’s all across the league. It’s not our team, it’s all teams deal with those things. So you have to make the best of what you have. And with that it’s a great opportunity for backup guys. They have to see it as ‘man this is my opportunity to go shine’. And are they ready for that challenge? Are they going to step up to the plate and make plays? You really don’t know until the young guys are thrust into that moment.”

What time does the Week 6 game start?

Kickoff is set for 1:05 p.m. PST on Sunday, Oct. 23rd, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.

Where can I watch the game?

The game will air live on FOX. Kevin Burkhardt (play-by-play) and Greg Olsen (color analyst) will be on the call. Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi (sideline reporters) will join them.
