At long last, Week 1 of the NFL 2023 season is upon us. And while the 49ers will look to get off to a hot start this Sunday, a road trip to the Steelers is never ideal early on.
The San Francisco 49ers begin their 2023 campaign with a trip to Pennsylvania to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Both teams seem eager as ever to come away with the victory, making for a tough battle in Week 1.
The big news coming out of The Bay this week is that Nick Bosa has returned and signed a five-year extension, making him the highest-paid non quarterback in NFL history.
But with only two days of practice under his belt, Bosa’s playing time could be reduced Sunday.
Probably not, coming to work in the peak physical condition that he always is.
“He looked exactly how we were expecting him to look. Looks in real good shape. Looks ready to go,” coach Kyle Shanahan said about Bosa Friday.
While both sides expressed doubt when contract talks lingered into this week, that’s all in the past now, with the player thrilled to be back with the 49ers for life.
“I’m very appreciative of this organization for believing in me, and the York family for believing in me, and I want to thank them, and [general manager] John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan,” Bosa added.
