The 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup is upon us, so why not watch Friday’s matchup between the United States and Vietnam with some local soccer players?
From now through Aug. 20, Australia and New Zealand are hosting the Women’s World Cup. And Sacramento Republic FC wants to watch the game with you.
The team is hosting a viewing party at Le Five’s in Rancho Cordova (11115 Folsom Blvd.) where fans will be able to watch the game with the Republic FC’s Cap City Crew and team captain Rodrigo Lopez.
Food trucks and games will be on hand for fans in attendance. The viewing party also kicks off the team’s donation drive to to collect new sports bras for young girls and women in sports. All donations will be given to the Girls on the Run Greater Sacramento.
Republic FC Executive Vice President of Business Operations Ashley Horsley said in a press release they’re “looking forward to providing ways for the community to celebrate while also doing some good by giving back and making it easier for girls and teens to participate in sports.”
