NBA reporter Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today joined Cattles & Ramie on Wednesday to talk about the latest storylines around the NBA, including All-Star weekend and how to fix it, the potential for an NBA lockout, and if load management is a real thing. All that and more on Cattles & Ramie.
“I’m not gonna be as critical. I’m rather ambivalent, only because I understand this to be an exhibition,” Jeff Zillgitt said Wednesday. “I’m not expecting Game 7 of a playoff series, that kind of atmosphere. I understand that people want to see a little bit more competitiveness. But I tend to look at All-Star Weekend in general as a celebration of the game. Understanding that we’re not going to see the effort that teams put into defense in the regular season or playoff game.”
Topics discussed include:
- Does the league need to fix the All-Star weekend format?
- How has NBA viewership changed over the last few decades?
- Would the NBA & NBPA agree to more incentives at All-Star weekend?
- Should the All-Star rosters be expanded?
- How does the NBA fix load management?
